Nitish Kumar Exit:A Good Riddance Indeed

BJP gave so much importance to Nitish Kumar that he started to believe that he could enforce his whims and wishes without any protest. Bihar unit of BJP had been a disgruntled lot and kept voicing their concerns and frustrations about the means and ways of functioning of the government. They would complain that that Nitish was taking them for granted. But Sushil Kumar Modi stood like a rock behind Nitish Kumar and pacified them for the sake of the coalition.Sushil Kumar Modi faced constant criticism for his unflinching support and became virtually a loner in the organisation. He however enjoyed strong backing of central leadership which enabled him to keep his position and sail through numerous turbulent periods.

The kind of importance Nitish got in BJP National Headquarter was much much above than BJP's own chief ministers. This kind of treatments might have not gone down well with them but they maintained a civilised silence.Nitish Kumar could not dream of a better ally who allowed him to solely claim all the credit and hog in the limelight.

Nitish Kumar will know the difference himself now when he will have to wait for days to seek an appointment and thus have an audience either with the chairperson of the UPA or with the crown prince.

As has been confirmed now there is great unrest among BJP supporters who had voted for the NDA.They feel cheated and are determined to pay back in equal measures. This will herald a doom for Nitish Kumar. He will be back to square one.All those RJD converts who have instigated him to take this opportunistic decisions would have switched over for greener pasture yet again.

BJP can now go the way it wants and sensing the prevailing mood in the country it might surprise itself. It will be a good riddance indeed.
